A tag is a key-value pair, or property, that can be associated with many entities throughout Formant. Tags, aside from providing extra data and information, are essential for many organizing tasks like filtering, organizing groups, and searching.

Tags can be set on the following entities:

Individual devices, which are used for creating groups.
Individual Datapoints
Views
Users
Events
Commands
Annotations
Roles
