You can configure your event alerts to be sent automatically via SMS to followers of your device. Messages can be sent to all followers of a device, or to specific followers based on tags.

Step 1: Add users or service users with phone numbers

Add users to your organization or update their profile with the phone numbers. If you want your users to receive only certain alerts, you can configure both the event alert and the user profile with tags. Users will only receive alerts with the tags applied to their profile. Sending alerts to non-users of Formant

If you want to send an SMS alert to a non-user of Formant, add them as a Service User and assign the role CUSTOMER. Service Users with the role CUSTOMER do not receive emails from Formant and do not have access to the platform.

Step 2: Add user as a follower of a device

1. In Formant, in the upper-left corner, open the menu and go to Settings >> Devices. Select the device for which you want to configure notifications.
2. Scroll to the bottom to locate Followers. Select the users you'd like to sign up for alerts from the device.

Step 3: Enable SMS forwarding for the event

1. In Settings, click Events. Click on the event for which you want to configure SMS alerts.
2. Click Actions and set SMS Forwarding to Enabled.
