Teleoperation

Teleoperation is a key part of Formant. Whereas commands can be used to send specific instructions, teleoperation allows you to fully operate your device remotely.

Teleoperation enables remote operation or control of your device. This means that users can control a device from anywhere with an internet connection.

In a standard configuration, teleoperation will use realtime streams to stream live video with the lowest possible latency. The users can then use their keyboard, mouse, or a gamepad/joystick to send movement instructions to the device. A simple example is a Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera where the camera feed is delivered in real-time and the user has controls for the panning, tilting, and zooming of the camera.
